2. A descendant.

2014 Cottontop

Aligote (phonetic pronunciation) was the first variety of wine grape planted by Alfred and Pauline Newhouse in 1968. The block was located next to their home at the foot of Snipes Mountain, where they raised seven children. It was the beginning of a family venture which grew to be what is now Upland Vineyards, within the Snipes Mountain AVA. This Aligote is dedicated to Pauline, the childhood tomboy with sunbleached blond hair, nicknamed Cottontop by her younger brother. The wine, like its namesake, is crisp, clean, a little sweet, a little tart. 14.4% alcohol
